New York State AHEC System Advisory Board

The Advisory Board shall:

1- advise the New York State AHEC System regarding the workforce shortage issues facing the health care system in New York State;

2- foster community-focused, multidisciplinary approach in health care training and service delivery by assisting the New York State AHEC System to identify barriers to and opportunities for health professions schools expansion of clinical training opportunities into underserved rural and urban communities;

3- help develop linkages between the New York State AHEC System and other state agencies, state programs and community resources (such as county public health units, community health centers, rural health networks and other community-based providers and clinical practice sites) to enhance the effectiveness of the New York State AHEC System; and

4- assist the New York State AHEC System in evaluating the impact and effectiveness of the New York State AHEC System.
